Rescue Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire around 4pm, dispatch advised the responding units that the caller advised the fire was on the first floor in back of the house. Chief 1-2 arrived to find smoke and fire showing from the back of a 2 story house, at this time a tanker task force was requested. Engine 1-3 arrived, crews stretched lines into the house and began putting a knock on the fire. Chief 1-2 advised there was an all-clear and all occupants were accounted for. Tower 1-1 arrived, their crew vented the structure and assisted the other crew with fire attack operations. Mutual-aid tankers from as far as Easton responded to assist with water supply, other mutual-aid apparatus assisted with fire ground operations. This fire was caused by open air burning that spread to the house, we would like to remind everyone that Dorchester County is still under a Burn Ban and will be for the foreseeable future. |
