Just after 11:20 last night Rescue Fire Company along with multiple mutual-aid departments were alerted for an explosion in the area of Wood Duck Drive, Dorchester County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene and advised Chief 1 to go to a 2nd alarm. Chief 1 arrived to find a middle of the row townhome with fire throughout and extension to both adjacent units.
Engine 1-3 arrived, the deck gun was placed in service by the driver as the crew pulled a 2” hand line to the structure. Tower 1-1 arrived and set up for aerial operations; command advised all units that we would be working in defensive operations. Searches were completed in the adjacent homes, those searches were all clear. As mutual-aid departments arrived they assisted in fire ground operations.
The occupants were not home at the time of the incident, no injuries were reported. Units cleared the call around 3am, the scene was then turned over to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office for investigation. |
